My therapist diagnose me as a mild bipolar. I am also diagnose with a personality disorder. My bipolar is not as severe. I applied for the job training. My counselor at the Vocational Rehab will look at my medical record to see if I am stable enough to go. I would like to work instead of applying for disability. I would like to know is anybody working that has bipolar disorder. How do you accomplished it? I'm afraid if I work, I will get stress and have an episode.

I had to quit my job because of stress but I know a lot of people who work and are bipolar. It depends on the job I guess. What kind of job are you looking at?

I work full-time at a cancer center...it is hard some days, but my job duties have been modified so I have less stress. Also, my bosses know of all the medications and symptoms I have in case something should happen(reaction to med, etc). It can be done, but it's not for everyone.

I worked until I could no longer work. The stress from bosses killed me. You can work if you want too, just know there is alternatives for you if need be.

I want a low stress job. The job training is the factory work. I don't know if I can do it.

Low stress job? I don't think one exists. If you're mild bipolar how can you get on disability?
I clean offices now. 30 years of being an administrative assistant did me in. My job now is pretty low stress. I work alone and at my own pace.

I don't know what I should do. If I get stress, I will have another epsiode.

Keep pushing for disability. It's your best bet.

Hey things DO get better eventually. I went from almost homeless to owning a house, married to a great guy and of course, the two cats "Bi" and "Polar". Ok, not the cats. But still, keep hanging in there and do what you need to do to help yourself. It'll pay off.
