Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I posted on here a lot when I joined a few months ago when I was feeling so hopeless and depressed that nothing would ever work for me. I got a new therapist, switched medications, and I had the happiest day I've had in like a YEAR yesterday. I was listening to music and dancing around, I actually looked forward to showering (taking care of myself has always been hard for me), I spent time outside, and I went on a date with my boyfriend!!!!
I was so emotional I wanted to cry because I was so happy I woke up not feeling anxious and had very VERY little rumination (mine is very severe so my doc said meds won't cure that but it will definitely help). Before, I was feeling very discouraged hearing everyone talk about meds and how they're a miracle when mine just didn't work for me, it actually made me feel worse. I advocated for myself hard and thankfully I have a great support system too. I just needed to share this with someone because I was so excited. I don't want to jinx myself because I'm still on a trial run with the meds but I did notice a clear difference in myself. I hope this continues for me. I hope you all are safe and doing well!! Have a great day everyone♥️
