Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hey y'all,
just wanted to get y'all's opinion on something. I got a new doctor who threw my other doctor out the window. She advised me I do have BP1 with depression, PTSD, ADHD and anxietyI'm being treated now with the following medications:
lexapro
Kolonpin
aderall
remron
vraylar
lamictal
Ps: another update I'm finally coming down from a manic episode I stayed up for 4 days straight. Not sure how that was possible but I did. I've been super stressed with school and I'm really emotional lately. I kinda feel like I have no one..

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
You can always ask for another opinion if you wanted to?.... xo
I would seriously talk to your pdoc, tell her you are in too many meds. Tell her you are going to start weaning off some of them, ask her which one you should start with.
Find some things you like to do, and do them. Be sure you exercise, listen to music and journal. I've been on no meds for a while, low meds before that. On many meds, I just remember being unable to function. Not remembering stuff.
I think your diagnosis is overkill. Bipolar 1 with anxiety. That's what you need to deal with. Many years after I got off meds, my pdoc apologized for over-medicating me.
Obviously you are going to have depression, with a bipolar diagnosis. The other things aren't necessary. I figured out I had bad PTSD after stopped seeing my pdoc, cause he stopped private practise. Instead of dwelling on it, I just didn't dwell on it, I forgave all who hurt me, and It holds no power over me.
It may take you a long time or never to get where I am. You might have to stay in 1or 2 meds, the rest of your life.
But you can heal, and feel better. I know, I did it. Your post reminded me of 20 years, a list of psych meds a mile long. Hormones & neurotransmitters are involved, for sure. Just don't give up hope. It doesn't have to be forever.
Even with a benzo I barely slept on Lamicatal
