Well I have been bipolar for 5-6 years. I have been on a lot of different medications. I am to the point to where I can't concentrate very well or read and obtain the information. I feel like my brain is not nearly as sharp as it was 3-4 years ago. I was reading online about peoples theories that it's the disease that creates the brain volume shrinking not the medication, but then I read that it's the pills and not the disease itself.
Do you have any thoughts about this? I would like to hear opinions and personal experiences.. Thank You

Even with our shrinking brains, we'll still be ahead of the game!!!!
(Well, except when it comes to difficult tasks, like tying our shoes or remembering how to use an ATM machine or pump gas or do any of the other things we've known how to do for decades!!)
I take Seroquel and now Epival for my moods. I am off Effexor thankfully. Nothing is ever perfect. nor do I ever feel perfect. Every day changes. depends on your mood. if i am depressed i can't think. if i am manic feeling i can think and plus i am all over the map TOO!!
