Hi, I've been visiting the ADHD/ODD websites for the past few months since my now 13yr old son was diagnosed. I am wondering if he may be bipolar. Has anyone here ever been diagnosed ADHD before finding out it was bipolar? He's been on 3 different meds, 2 strength of each (6 prescriptions) since Oct 2010. None seem to be working. He's had behavior problems since he was about 8 when he was diagnosed with learning disabilities in Reading and Writing. he used to be physically violent at home, until we started psychotherapy when he was 11. We had to call the police on him once and he hasn't been violent since, that may be due to his dad and I changing our parenting technique as well. He is still very mouthy and has trouble controlling his impulses, mainly at school. He is still very moody, can be great one minute and totally pissed off or depressed the next. Sometimes he a 2-3 weeks without any 'incidences' and seems perfectly fine. There's a lot more, but I was just wondering. I filled out a checklist I found on-line and he has a lot of the symptoms listed.
