Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hi Folks!
You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse and I work here at DailyStrength. I'm writing to let you know that we're looking to add a few more Community Leaders to the Bipolar Disorder Support Group -- so we'd like to know if you want to become one!
In case you're not already familiar with what Community Leaders do, they're vibrant members who volunteer to greet new folks in the group, offer positive and constructive advice in discussion posts, help steer negative topics back on track, and occasionally close a clearly abusive discussion post. You can learn more by clicking here:
http://www.dailystrength.org/content/view/2071495
If you have any questions or a're interested in becoming a volunteer CL, please send me a private message with the subject heading of "CL for Bipolar". DS staff will then review the candidates.
To be considered for the role of a CL, we'd like to ask that you:
1. Be okay with having a profile privacy setting of either "Everybody" or "DS Members".
2. Have not received prior warnings from DS for violations of the Rules of the Road.
3. Have been an active member of the Bipolar Disorder support group for at least six months.
I'll leave this post up for a few days, and I might bump it up every once and a while so it stays on the main page.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. :)

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

actually i was going to say that most of what i do is sort of invisible - sort of..most of my time is actually spent sending welcome hugs, helping people in their first couple of days before they find friends, also 1:1 sorting out of minor problems in private...that sort of stuff
So in those cases report direct to DS or send a CL a PM.
we don't have any set hours - and sometimes people just can't spend any time for a while because they are sick or away
that's why it's better to have a number of CLs
More importantly can we take bribes?
I did volunteer, but I don't know if anything will come of it. I haven't had any warnings and I'm not sure how I'd be as a CL, but I'd do the best I can.
I'm still paying for my fight with a woman on the diabetes board who kept telling everyone not to take their metformin. She was very dangerous, but DS didn't get into it that far. They only knew she reported me numerous times for saying she was totally wrong.
Love and light, all!
You meet all kinds of folks here, but the ones that think they are infallible and report anything that doesn't agree with them, cause serious probs for legit dissenters.
Hope that scenario will not be held against me. Since I have agoraphobia, but want to volunteer in some way, this seemed perfect....Shelly should remember. I hope.
