Have any of you ever done an intensive outpatient program? Wat is it like? Would you suggest it to people?

The one I went to they lump all mentally ill people together in the group. Some man was saying he felt homicidal, another lady was moving in slow motion, others were drooling. Counselors acted like they didn't care..blah

I have done inpatient (several times) but have thought about outpatient lots of times. The ones here are supposedly a joke.No real structure or anything.Of course the inpatient are too sometimes.Ask your Pdoc about your local outpatient program and see what they say.Good luck.:)

We even did some yoga and relaxation exercises. It was very helpful to me and I try to remember to use the skills I've learned to help me cope.
