Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
One is a breathing exercise. If you breath in for 4 counts - through your mouth, then breath out for 4 counts - through your nose, this will relax you. Breathing out through your nose stimulates the vagal nerve and it has a calming affect.
Also, try to distract yourself. Is there anything around that you really enjoy doing? Knitting, crafts, crossword puzzles, etc.
What about lighting some candles that smell really good, and taking a nice warm or hot bath? Try taking a book in with you. Or I take my cigs into the bathroom with me and smoke in the tub.
I'm quitting smoking tonight at midnight!
The life guard was there, your daughter was happy swimming in the shallow end, your step daughter was happy in the deeper water.
they are kids and have forgotten about this already. You need to let it go.
It's probably time to make sure you step daughter gets her deep water certificate, she's obviously ready for it.
Take them swimming again. Next time you will handle it better. Why should your kids miss out on swimming because your anciety levels were too high.
Each time you take them swimming your anciety will get less.
Hope this doesn't make you angry. But this is something that happened to me a lot when I was a kid. You have to learn to deal with it not your kids.
Be brave.
