Many thanks to those who answered my last post about this weekend.I so appreciate all of your advice and kind words.What I've basically decided is that I can't run away every time I encounter a "sandpaper person" (I say this because I was thinking of leaving and finding another group home).There will always be people like Arlene,no matter where I go.
And I hope my old-fashioned computer (which I adore) continues to work,so that I can stay in touch with my friends on DS.Even though we only meet in cyberspace,your friendship and compassion equals the support I get IRL.Please stay as sweet as you all are,and thanks for being there for me yet again.

Your exactly right Laura there will always be "sandpaper" people no matter where you are. Geographical solutions hardly ever work. I hope she has been kind to you so far this weekend. Wishing you a happy Labor day!! HUGS!!

Ditto what Nester said!!! For me, I tried moving to different places to see if life was any better there - it was ME that I was running from! I was being toxic to myself. Just like Arlene, may those toxic people need not be a major player in your life - or here's wishing you the best in using the tools that you have to keep toxic people away! Good riddance!

Sandpaper people (that's good and a new one for me)
do have their uses: apply them as needed to heels and elbows and keep them in a drawer until needed.

Laura I!m so sorry you are having to deal with this "sandpaper" (*great description) person.

I too agree with Nester , Spacekat and Nester it seems like you have learned something valuable from this unpleasant experience.

Sorry it has to be unpleasant there but thank heavens for DS!
