Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I wish you the best and I hope that you can continue your stability. Please do not attempt this without therapy especially if you are not going to take meds. It wasnt that long ago that your marriage was strained and just a few short months later you are thinking of having another baby.
Please think clearly about all of this before you make such important decisions in your life. xo
I wish it goes well with you,

Having said all that, for me giving up on medication just wasn't an option. I just couldn't put myself or my family through that again. I will never be really stable and my meds have to be adjusted fairly frequently. Best meds for me have been Lamictal, Abilify, Celexa and Xanax. Unfortunately I had to stop the Abilify due to tremors.
For me, medication is worth the work it takes to find and maintain the right combo. When I look back at some of the things I did unmedicated I feel horrible. Being unmedicated has caused a lot of heartache. Not just for me but for others. My best advice is to hang in there, work with your doctor and try to find the med regime that works best for you.
Just a suggestion, you might ask your doctor if he could replace the Risperdal with Abilify. To my mind, it is the cleanest anti-psychotic out there.
