I've been on disability for about a decade now and havn't worked the entire time. I had a hard time getting a job back when I had recent experience. How the heck am I supposed to get one now that I'm in my 30s with a decade gap in my resume?
Thankfully, I don't have to get a job, I just kinda want to.

Starting something new isn't easy, sometimes you have to kind of just make up your mind you're going to do it and step off the cliff and do it.
You might also enlist the help of a Vocational Counselor if you have that service in your area, you might check with your Social Services office.
There are companies like amazon who are hiring who don’t even need a resume.
How are you a better person now than you were at the beginning of the gap? How can you link those strengths to the new position? Have someone role play interviews with you so that you can be at your best for the real thing.
Do not, do not, do not, listen to the voices in your head that tell you it can't be done. Similarly, disregard the news that speaks of joblessness and a horrible economy. It is all what you make of it.
