Yes you do need them, and deserve them. I hope today gets better for you.
i get this all the time from my husband and our kids its very frustrating and extremly annoying, they are suppossed to stick by you not contridict you,
my husband let my son out after he was told he wasnt allowed untill he'd mowed the lawn,(as a punishment) he let him out as soon as i stepped out the door and mowed the lawn himself. sometimes i wounder if its really him thats making me crazy!!
If my daughter lied and indeed he didn't over rule me she's going to be grounded with no friends over for a week....
He does other things like that too.
That is one of those things we have to hammer out with our spouses.
I know you are hurt. It would be great though if you could find a way to get the point across without the children or child involved.
I understand why you don't want to watch the kids if he overrules you. Finding a baby sitter maybe a good idea to get the point across.
Hopefully he will wake up to his wrong doing without the children realizing anything is going on.
Depending how we are feeling, I think it's good for us to have a babysitter sometimes anyway. I love my children more than anyone else on the planet. When I'm having a mental moment and the kids are suppose to be with me alone, I could use help. I call it giving my five year old a buddy.
Good luck in sorting the overruling out. I've been working with my husband on this for thirteen years. When I mention it, he just gives me a blank face.
Oh one thing I forgot. When I point it out to him he says to the kids, mom said you can only do blank. Thanks hun for making me the bad guy in my kids eyes.
Hugs and luck to you.

I would push it all the way. Boy, I can really commit when I'm of a mind to on something like this. I can just imagine how long it would take for him to be totally sick of literally being the ONLY adult in the vicinity.
I also do not understand why he can overrule you... you are both parents... why is his the final say? what makes his Yes overrule your No? I guess I am to logical but unless its big decisions both of you should discuss these minor ones should be up to your discretion....
((hugs)) polar
Geesh, sweetie, you will get along alot better with your husband if you communicate with him first before jumping to conclusions. It just pits the kids against you. Your husband should always come first and a quick phone call could have solved all of this.
