I did something stupid and cut myself yesterday. I had to get some stitches. When they did my bloodwork at the hospital I found out that I'm pre-diabetic. I don't want to cut again...I'm not worried about that.
I'm freaking out. I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go. I want to talk to people, but I don't want to talk to anyone. I have my kids and I don't know what to do with them.
Please help.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

This isn't a life-sentence like BP is, so try to keep calm ok? You can reverse IR in most cases, or at least make it affect you less.
((((big hugs)))))
I assume "pre-diabetic" means you have yet to progress to diabetes type 2..of course most people think of diabetes type 1 when they think of diabetes.
You can possibly do some things to prevent it going on to diabetes..a good doctor will be able to help. That includes diet and possibly, only possibly, medication.
So acept you are a bit in shock, give yourself some time to let it settle in.
You have to pre condition yourself with 20 minutes every day but graduate to an hour to actually loose weight. The meds slow our metabolism and cause our bodies to metabolize foods differently by processing them differently.
Just check with your doc about the blood work and what you can do and try to follow his instructions. Just one more thing to think about now. Please try not to worry, like Gemi said, it is treatable and not a life long thing.
I am more concerned about why you needed to cut. Have you tried some other coping skills for that, like the rubber band trick? Rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you feel the urge. Please take care of you. Hugs
You don't have to be morbidly obese to have bloodsugar issues. Even losing ten pounds can get rid of the problem. Cut out simple carbs and lower your general carb intake and it helps.
Did they give you a medication?
Pop a movie in for the kids and make them a little snack and try to relax a little. You have my best wishes at heart...=)
And talk to your pdoc. Maybe a med adjustment is in the cards too.
peace a blessings to you. Jet
I cannot believe what I am reading... I feel for you, and I hope you can talk with your doctors/therapists about what is going on in your life. You know....I just wish we could all get together one day, and just give each other a big hug....sit down, eat and drink and talk and laugh one day.... we need to actually see each other one day. I wish one day we could....in the meantime breath....think positive thoughts and try and find someone to take care of your kids for a little while so you can decompress.
