Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
But if you still don't want to read it, did you end up registering with the school that you have a disability? If so, tell the teacher about your problems, and calmly and clearly, explain to her why the article will be a problem for you, and try to work with her.
But like I said, you might find the article to be interesting. Try to read it (if it's the one I'm thinking of) through the sociological perspective you are learning in class, and not about eating people.
