How annoying.. I would be climbing the wall to.. Have you asked your landlord why he isn't doing anything?
If it were me I'd be knocking on the landlords door while it's going on.. Maybe if it's at night he'll be more apt to put a stop to it..x

The landlord doesn't live here, otherwise I would! Trust me. I feel like I shouldn't complain anymore... But seriously, it's all the time. And my front steps are broken and the LL said he would fix them MONTHS ago, and but a gate up on the glass door that's my own entrance. I'm shaking so bad... I feel like I'm about to have a flipping panic attack!

I cant think of the phrase off the top of my head someone will know it but there is a law that says people must be allowed "reasonable peace."

So I guess the first thing to do is to ccontact the police.

Why isnt your apartment manager doing anything about it. Or is he and the person just continues anyway?

I had 4 college boys living under me. They had their base turned up really loud and they would go out on their balcony and "hoot" really screaming like at late night parties. They had a huge 3 bedrroom apartment and would have 300 ppparties.

I called my landlord/owner 3 times and he tried to stop it and then I called the police. After three calls they started giving the boys monstrou$ tickets. I knoow bec the Police would ccome back and talk to me. They moved in about 8 months.

If it gets any worse, I will call the cops. I can't deal with this kind of stress.

Dont let it gets worse shlay do it the next time it happens. You might write down what has happened so far with the noise and the broken glass and time frame if possible. do you know who the owners are.

I know this sounds odd, bu have you talked to him? I have a cop living above us and he was loud, my husband politely talked to him and he stopped...just a suggestion, cuz there really is nothing the lanlord will do if hes paying his rent on time.

i'd either try to get it taken care of by the landlord and or/authorities or i would just move.

Moving is not an option for me, I get housing assistance and they pay my rent... So I kinda have to just suck it up. I don't want to call the cops unless it gets really bad, because I don't want to give up this apt when my year is up. I don't know the owner, he has a few buildings that one guy takes care of. He doesn't answer is phone on the weekends, so I'll call him on Monday and tell him about it, again. It stopped now. If the noise kept up I would have at least rang his doorbell.

I'm sorry you have a noisy neighbor. Glad it has stopped for now so you can get some peace.

I'm a landlord. I own several buildings and some have upstairs/downstairs tenants. I think I get more personally involved with my tenants than your landlord does but I think it's safe to say that all landlords want their tenants to be safe, content and paid-up.

We encourage the tenants to work out noise or parking issues first. If an annoyance becomes persistent then we ask them to call us. We get on it right away.

How many times have you talked to your neighbor? How often have you called the landlord? I bet you can get this worked out without having to call the police or moving.

The steps issue is a huge safety hazard and needs to be rectified right away. Best bet is to politely and persistent contact the landlord until he takes care of his responsibilities.

i had a similar problem a few years ago and my landlady was giving me the runaround-i learned that the best thing to do in that situation is to call the police for disturbing the peace

invite local Jehovah's Witness outfit around to his address? hehe x

We have really noisy upstairs neighbors, too. Not sure what to do about it.

He's still being quiet, but I'm not! I'm playing a loud gory video game and loving every minute of it. Noise limit is until 10, and I always tone it down before then. I'm usually not loud anyways.. unless... lol.

I'll deff talk to the land lord about it on Monday. Thank you everyone for your support! I took a xanax a while ago and am feeling much better.
