Sometimes I get episodes of feeling both depressed and manic symptoms (such as high energy and agitation) at the same time. During this time I also get very paranoid and hear voices (I have schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type). I am so confused.

Gentle empathy, Alxlop. I still don't have any easy answers for my mixed episodes, but I am getting better at using my therapy tools to get through them. Does it count as progress that it has been a while since I've buried a bill collector?
If you have a Therapist, talking through all the mixed up feelings and the difficulty of the disease can be helpful, you can also learn many coping skills which will allow you to deal with your Symptoms in addition to the meds.
