The best thing you have going for you right now is that you know what mood you are in so you can help yourself a lot. It is a hard disorder but with the right meds and therapy and support you can get through this quite well. Greetings and salutations, tink! I'm also dx'd with schizoaffective disorder (bipolar subtype). You are very much in the right place! I keep looking but over the years there just hasn't been much success in the schizoaffective group(s). There are a bunch of us here who have this diagnosis. I tend to wander between the bipolar group and the schizophrenia board. Some other folks with schizoaffective disorder can be found there. Welcome!

Welcome got2breal. Nice to meet you. I have bipolar but not overly sure on schizaffective part. However this site is really helpful. Try and make some online friends and reach out if youre ever struggling. Try and get out and move your body to help with depression if you can. Hope this helps. Try and move forward each day. Even if its very small steps as has been suggested.

Thankyou all for responding. I saw my doctor today he increased my antidepressiant said he would know by the time i come back in 4 weeks if it is going to help me. I sure hope so I don't like feeling like this it is hard to get iterest in anything bujt I keep pushing myself. try to stay busy with the garden and canning. we are fermenting pickles and cauliflower now. think we will have to pick blackberries either tonight or tomorrow. Don't really want to but will push myself to do it anyway as it has to get done.most of the time I enjoy gardening but lately all I want to do is sit around and try to sleep even tho' I can't. ever been so depressed you had problems sleeping what have you all tried when you have that problem I suffer insomnea bad when I get depressed all i can do is just lay there trying to go to sleep and watch the clock especially if i have to get up and go to an appointment,
