What is the difference between hypomania and mania? When I was manic I was euphoric and very talkitive. Before this episode I was destructive and putting myself in dangerous situations. Would that be more bp 2 or bp1?

BP I experiences Mania
The basic difference between hypomania and mania , is the extream behaviors .
Hypomania , usually presents as an elevation in mood. Feelings of euphoria {or dysphoria}
Having lots of energy , lots of ideas.
Mania is hypomania X's a thousand .
Hypomanic can be euphoric ..Happy Happy
Or
Dysphoric , not so happy , and feeling irritable
Risky behavior can be either hypomania or mania . I guess it would depend on how risky you are getting ?.
hallucinations can be caused by things other than psychosis.

BP I always presents with at least 1 episode of psychosis in your life .
And yes, a severe depression can also lead to psychosis .

BP I usually has mania, psychosis, etc.,
BP II has the hypomania, however, if untreated, it can jump up into mania.
The euphoria and talkativeness sound more like the episodic part of bipolar. The destructiveness and dangerous situations is also sounds episodic as well.
For a clear cut answer as to BP I or BP II, it would require a pdoc to give that dx.
