i had my baby girl almost 12 days ago. im just starting to get what i THINK are baby blues and im hoping thats all there going to be. i dont want to get postpartum depression but because i am bipolar, im at higher risk for postpartum depression.
i love my little girl more then anything, so these crying spells are making me miserable becuse i feel so terrible.
i havent been on meds for my bipolar since july 2012. i have had my moments but when i got pregnant (planned), i did really really well through pregnancy with few moods and few "episodes".
i am terrified that these baby blues are going to to turn to postpartum depression and spike up my bipolar. i dont ever want to go on meds again. i just want to do well and have a good happy days. maybe its too much to ask but it shouldnt be.
my boyfriend and doctor are aware of the bipolar and we know what to watch for when it comes to the bipolar spiking back up.
sorry just needed to vent... while my little girl sleeps on my chest, clung to me today.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. Figure that you will go through some Post Partum Depression.
Take care of yourself, and try to get back on meds ASAP

I would keep track of your mood now... perhaps a chart or journal...If you feel you're getting too far off track I would get to the doc's ...
Most of us need to be on meds....I'm glad you aren't ruling them out if it becomes necessary.... Big hug for you and your wee one...x
You should get in contact with your Pdoc and get back on your meds, this isn't something that may happen, it's something that most likely will happen. And if you don't want to go back on the meds, you should still sit down with your Pdoc and have a very candid discussion about this, the dangers, and the warning signs...for your safety and the safety of your family.
Take care,
kat
