This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hello! I hope that you did get to sleep.
I am just wondering since I didn't see another post, unless I missed it.
I find times where I can' t sleep either. I try everything I can think of to get to sleep but no avail.
I would tell you to try the usual but then everyone says that.
Did you try journaling how you are feeling??? Even if it is jibberish.
It works well most times.
Just a thought.
Hope you are OK.

When I am anxious and don't need a pill just need to calm the heck down here is what I do.
Take a long hot bath
go out for a while like to the gym or just out for a walk or sit out on my patio. Don't do much walking honestly due to knee issues.
listen to iPod specifically the ocean sounds. My sponsor bought me a cd of ocean sounds which is very soothing.
Meditation
Journaling
Emailing my sponsor as to the issue (she has anxiety too)
Talking it out with hubby or son.
Self talk while laying in bed try and relax one part of body at a time starting with my head, neck and then shoulders going all the way down to my toes. I rarely get to the legs before I am fast asleep when I do this.
Also if not in the mood to do any of the above I can watch mindless tv and that will usually take my mind off of the anxiety but do not watch the news or anything triggering. I usually find something I've seen before and watch that. Just my .02
