Hi, so i don't really know what im doing, but i just wanted to talk to people with simliar struggles. This year I was diagonsed with Bipolar one, with a bunch of other stuff. At first I was fine. But here lately thinhs have been getting harder. and I'm going to have to quit my job. A part of me is reliefed because it was stressful and i was struggling, but the other part of me is calling myself a failure for not being able to handle it and i hate that. I hate feeling....hopeless. and i feel alone. I dont have many friends and the ones i do have don't understand. so i dont really have anyone to talk to about this kinda stuff.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I am currently struggling to work as well. I’m thinking about quitting my job in the next two weeks. I am on disability but it’s only just enough to pay all my bills then I have like $20 left.
I’ve been struggling to work for the last seven years and it’s not easy. I do have a great support system of friends and family though and they are amazing.
I realize not everyone can be so lucky.
If you stick around here for.m a while you will meet many people who share similar struggles.
This illness can be a roller coaster, but with the right support it can be more bearable
This forum is pretty good for ranting, information, and support.
Sorry for the reason, yet hopeful you will find here what you need. For me, well I've spent a life time until 30 knowing something was 'off', not until 30 was I given the dx of bp 1. I found relief, I had an answer to the what's and why's of my behaviors and feelings. Time is needed to find your way to acceptance and understanding of treating yourself and living with the condition...Not saying I'm bp, rather saying "I Have Bp" just like many other illnesses. Yes there are beliefs in society that are challenging, yet in my own world those negative thoughts are changing. I was Blessed to work for 27 years, Hardest part was going back after 3 hospitalizations and facing the people I worked with and returning the hundreds of dollar purchases I made when manic.
After so many years I've come to accept the symptoms my body and mind exhibit that others might not get. It's important for me to see a therapist weekly to process the many challenges in my life...gain perspective...know I need to take baby steps rather than a bull like behavior to make accomplishments. In time you will find your way, please do believe you can come here and safely talk about the what's and why's you are dealing with for ideas from others with bp....there are many different levels of bp, therefor many different ideas to process for you and your level of need. Best To You.
We who are actually BiPolar and deal with all we deal with that the DX entails, know it....some of us, like me have done this for 31 years, have done medications for 31 years, have done Pdocs, various forms of Therapies, learned Coping Skills and managed our BiPolar for a very long time. And believe me I know the difference between someone who's really BiPolar and someone who's just dealing with life.
We who are BiPolar tend to do things that we have absolutely NO control over at times, we have suicide attempts in our pasts that lead to InPatient Psych stays, that we wouldn't have wanted...otherwise. We have days to weeks to months of time were we were so intensively Depressed that we couldn't get out of bed, because just the action of breathing was too difficult, much less anything else, functioning on a basic human scale was all our brains could manage and that was on medication and Therapy.
Some of us have periods of Mania so severe that we don't sleep or eat for days to weeks on ends, our brains are like Hamster Wheels that never stop turning, we don't stop, because we can't stop. Constant work, projects, ideas, plans, things, spinning, spinning, spinning...that rarely get finished or completed or done because each thing runs into the other at warp speed and our brains don't understand the standard rule of time that there are only 60 min. in an hour and only 24 hours in a day...and no we don't have any control over it...oh yeah and once again that's while on medication and Therapy.
So, sorry if that comment is a bit offensive, but NO everybody does not have BiPolar, normies just have life, regular old, "nobody said it was going to be easy and humans are born with emotions" Life!
And no Society doesn't show this unless you live in some tiny strange town with a very high Mental Illness rate.
If you don't think you're BiPolar and you were just sad and misdiagnosed, then go be happy and live life.
