Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I feel great. It feels like a miracle. I have been happy and upbeat for a week and a half or so! And stable! Not manic. For those of you who have read my posts in the past few months, you know that I have been having difficult times. I was hospitalized 5 times this past summer and I have been in recovery. Since then I went through a lot of depression and hopelessness and eventually became suicidal. And you guys helped me a lot with your comments and feedback. So I just wanted to let you know that I have been doing really well lately, and maybe this will be an encouragement to someone. For those of you who think it's obnoxious, I don't mind. But someone gave me inspiration by telling their story and living with success. So hey it's possible! Thank God!

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.

I am only on Seroquel XR 300mgs, Lithium 1200 mgs and Klonopin. Here's hoping we both continue our journey out into the sunshine. Peace and hugs.
Thank You.
At a BP/depression support group that I go to in a nearby town, there was a young woman who couldn't find any motivation at all and stayed in bed and ate (she had an eating disorder too so this was making her depressed). I just had to raise my hand and talk to her, because I was in the same place a few months ago. And a med change really helped me as well as exercise and reaching out to family and friends. I urged her to be proactive because she wasn't going to get any better not doing anything about it. Start out with walking everyday, or three times a week to start. It made a huge difference for me. She was smiling and she said thank you. I think whenever you are in a healthy stable place, it is important to reach out and inspire someone... lead by example. A young man in the same support group inspired me by relating to me saying he was in the same situation and leading by example, showing how well he was doing and how possible it is to live happily and successfully with bipolar disorder.
Thanks for all of your comments and support. And for those of you who are struggling, don't lose hope. You are so worth the wait and the work to get better. And once you're there, you feel like you have accomplished so much just by getting out of a dark hole of depression. You can do it!
Good for you!
