Do you think it is possible that bad things happen because you think of them? I am thinking it is my fault that my niece is sick. I have had some intrusive thoughts the last couple of weeks involving the children getting sick, and needing to call 911. Also I have had some thoughts that other members of my family might get hurt or sick.
I have been controlling the thoughts with the help of my therapist, and they have mostly gone away, but now I am worried that by thinking it I may have caused it.
What do you think?

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

if you could will someone sick by thinking it.. i have a couple of names to give you. we could at least test your theory on a worthy cause? not your family.
that bothers me that they are cramming the "you thought it so it will happen" philosophy down our throats lately. its not good in the mind of a bipolar where a lot of the stuff we think we have nothing to do with. it just comes and goes. everyone has intrusive thoughts, ours are just a bit more creative.
go easy on yourself. premonition does exist.. i once saw a natural disaster some days before it happened.
People just get sick sometimes... it's certainly not your fault..
Intrusive thoughts are often part of our illness unfortunately and they're not pleasant
Big hug of comfort for you..x
If you have the power to bring about bad things, then you have the power to bring about good things. That doesnt mean you "will" it, it means you "attract" it because you desire it. Use your energy to think posiitve things for her and see the positive about her and it will release you from some of this worry and fear. All the worry and fear in the world won't change anything but make YOU sick.
I hope she is doing well today, please update us!!!! xo
