Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have no idea what to do with this. Ever since my brain surgery 3years ago, I have not felt like myself. At first it it felt almost like I was driving someone else's body. As time went by it got better but I was still noticing odd things about myself. One of them is this weird, -very hard to describe-feeling of not being able to get myself to do something that has, I guess you would say, prep work with it. Cooking, the thought of having to prepare any of it beyond boiling the water and putting something in there, feels like a huge task that I'm not sure I can do. I couldn't get myself to make an omelet this morning. Even though all the ingredients were pre-prepared. All I would have had to do was mix the egg part, put in pan, add ingredients and cook. Now why can I write all that down, but freeze up, or brain freek, when I try to do it? This happens with all activities like that. It's driving me insane! Having bipolar2, I know all about the "it just ain't happening" days. The being stuck. The "I don't want to do it, but pissed, off do it anyway "days. But this is something different and it's always! I get the usual "you look ok, you can do, this or that, so why do you say you can't do something as simple as making a box of mac&cheese". You just need to try harder"," you've developed a bad habit, just force yourself to do it". Well guess what people that doesn't work! It's not like I haven't tried that on my own. It's like when people tell you to just stop feeling depressed, you'll feel better. Gee, wish I thought of that!
I do have a neurologist appt tomorrow, and I don't know what to expect or what info will or will not be relevant to her. My therapist and I went over things, but even she can't be sure. So bring all I got.
Anyway, I've come here with this, cuz, a) I can't find anywhere/anyone else to talk to about this. And b) I was thinking that since we here have had their brains go on vacation without us, I might find something. Even if some kind of understanding. I can't be the only one that goes through this.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Can you give yourself permission the not always be on top of everything.... If you aren't up to making eggs then perhaps you can make toast or a sandwich..... Maybe giving yourself permission to have alternatives might allow you to be kinder to yourself
Would some therapy help with this?... Perhaps you could discuss this with your neurologist ....Maybe there's a group that might help?..... Big hug.......xo
And it took me forever to do the texting thing. And i still suck at it. Im great at hitting all the wrong buttons. And im not one that carries my phone everywhere i go, like to the bathroom.I don't care if I can do or not do techy stuff. I know im never going to be that good at it. Not my thing. So i guess we're both sinners on that count.
Thanks for your inputs. Cross fingers for tomorrow. Hugs
