Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

If there is no obvious cause of why you would be feeling panicky and it's been going on for several days I guess the guidance is the old "perhaps you need a med tweak?"
I spent nearly 30 years declaring myself "just over ^it^" after each of my psychotic breaks. My last hospital stay was in 1999. I was released from active pro therapy a year or so later. I finally accepted ^it^ as a lifelong condition and have been taking my therapy maintenance very seriously ever since. Every day. Since I quit fighting the program, that maintenance consumes far less of my life than the fight drama consumed.
But that is me. . . This ailment is nowhere near as uniform as the campaign blurbs would have us believe.
Welcome back. Hope you find the guidance and understanding you are looking for.
You're reaching out somewhere, and that's a start.
I would call my doc if I were you. Being in same meds the same way for a long time doesn't fix or keep at bay all of the symptoms forever. There will be times meds have to be changed..
I'm glad I have you guys to talk to
I don't think you are alone in quitting meds....many of us do that for a variety of reasons....
The important thing is getting back to some emotional stability it's possible....sounds like you are taking the right steps to get there. Good to see you back this is a great place for support as well....a little check in never hurt.
I find I can get so lost as well -or I did - but then I started to create external structures to my day and week. So in the end somethings - are the same about my day - and week and are like a mental 'check in' ...so as to say - 'ok now it's time for THIS' (this kind of thing is like eating or sleeping at the same time every day - taking my meds at the same time - watching a select few shows at the same time)
I hope I am describing it well enough. This was just one coping mechanism for me - in the process of
taking my struggle seriously and incorporating 'living with it.'
I used to get so anxious and panicky when I seemed to get lost in the day. Now I have these points of structure- and because I know them now so well - I can also deal with the day with more flexibility and less panic ( I can be ready for the anxiety if I make a change to the structure.)
I know this may seem a lot to say but I do think this place is a great place to come. Welcome back!
What is your current situation? Are you working or what? If you need someone to talk in depth message me. I am here to listen to you.
