I've never met an anti-depressant that didn't cause mania or a mixed episode. Even "Wellbutrin" caused mania. Have you ever had an anti-deprressant work for you without giving you a zillion side-effects?

I'm utterly terrified of going manic....Healthcare what it is in the USA I'd be looking at $300 a day for hospitalization and that adds up very quickly.

I have such difficulty with the lack of choices we have in treating depression and mixed states.

Have you ever tried nefazodone, name brand serzone that you can't get service on anymore, it's an older antidepressant. It mellows you out will not make you feel like you're out of reality. It is literally the only one that works for me out of every single antidepressants. It does have a black box warning for liver problems but over 15 years of taking it I've never had any problems. Might be worth a try? It does calm me down and I sleep well.

I haven't tried nefazodone. I've had terrible luck with antidepressants causing mania so I'm a little gun shy esp the older variety. Glad you found something that works for you...

I was recently on too much Effexor. My teeth were hurting. So I googled that and Effexor. I suppose too high of a dosage will make you clench your jaw. In some cases chip your tooth enamel.

I got my Effexor reduced. The lady at the hospital added Depokte. That drug really make a difference. I am so serious. Before I was having anxiety and uptight fits. Now, I am fairly mellow. So happy about Depokote.

I don't have crippling fear, anxiety and depression. I can actually kinda not go nuts over small issues. I just let things go. I still have my worries about my parents etc. But I can kinda function now.
