why can't you go to a homeless shelter?

You have likely been asked these questions but I'm throwing them out there....

Does your pdoc know you are living on the street? Or your lawyer? This fact changes everything. Does your pdoc you're suicidal? Have you shown him your posts from here?

There is such a thing as a "dire needs" letter that pushes the process forward quickly. Also there is likely a contact in your State Representative's office that can intervene on your behalf...puts your case at the top of the pile, creates a sense of urgency. I had a terrible lawyer who knew NONE of this. PM me and I can give you more step by step info.

You're in Arizona right? Call your Senators Office and tell your story. Tell them you need help with your disability claim and who do you need to speak with. I'm in a different state but this is how I got approved after 2 denials. Turns out they didn't even have all my medical records which held up the process...and was the reason for my previous denials. My lawyer sucked and couldn't care less even though he told me he was working hard on my case. Liar.

I have read all the advice you have been given, and if you had taken it you still wouldn't be living out of your car.

If its comfort from words of support that you need you got plenty right here on DS.

All that aside, I recommend a med tweek, if your not already on Lamictal, get on it, it will help with the suicidal thoughts.

In California, you can go to the local Health and Human Services...apply for Welfare, you can get Food Stamps and emergency money for housing, usually it's a residential Hotel, but you would have a private room...you would also get free medical care and meds.

Thank you DD, right now I get food stamps, free medical care and meds. It's just the housing that they don't provide. I have heard that there is a place that gives one time rental assistance but that won't help me. What I need is a free place to live. I appreciate you trying to help DD, I would be terrified to go to a different state, not knowing my way around, with just a few clothes in a bag. Here I already have food and meds and I know my way around. I found a side street to sleep on last night that was relatively safe. I think I am adjusting to living in my car, it's just the unbearable heat that is a problem. I spend most of the day in the library, but the few hours I am outside before sunset are very hard. When the sun goes down it is still hot but not as unbearable as when the sun it beating right on you. I am still searching for a place to park the car in the shade for those hours of the day. I spend a lot of time reading now and have averaged a book a day this past week. It is a relief not to have to work or worry about making the rent. That stress was horrendous. I stay within a six block radius all the time, except when I go to the storage shed where my stuff is stored to get something. So I save alot in gas. I will be ok. Thanks to everyone for your concern. Hope you all are well.

I can't imagine what you are going through. It's my worst nightmare, the thought of being homeless and out on the street. My prayers are with you. God, you are strong.

Heretic I'm sorry if I offended you in my pm when I said I'd prayed for you.There is no question that you are in a terrible situation and it can't be allowed to continue. Someone has to intervene (I mean someone human).The curious thing is that I feel just the way you do when I wake up,even though I have a place to live I hate it.I wish I could be anywhere in the world besides where I am.If there is anything I can do for you I will try to do it. You ARE a strong person. I could never go through what you're going through right now. Beyond that I'm speechless.
