I really like this quote. Because i always hated the platitude "time heals all wounds". I mever bought into that and i couldnt really put my finger on why. I guess its because i knew i still felt pain long after the event. I think this applies to so many of us dealing with ptsd--- flashbacks make the hurt seem like its happening to us all over again right in the moment - reopening old wounds. Past pyschic wounds neer really seem to heal fully. So i wanted to share it with u all

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

As for other pains, or traumas, of course it's different. I have PSTD from the AIDS crisis, that's a different kind of grief, that doesn't so much "tear upon a wound" -- I wouldn't say, but does make me vulnerable to disturbing, overwhelming feelings when unexpectedly triggered. Some people do say "Scarred for life" -- but I don't like expression, because it makes one sound more like a victim than a survivor.
