I just spent the last 36 hours spoiling my self to a wonderful Day at greenfield village and then a night at the Hyatt some time in the club (dont drink) Dinner at a 5 star restaurant great sleep breakfast at the same restaurant. Then a small shopping spree at the mall (which is not the walmart I usually go to)

The Bad Part is I saved up for it and budgeted for it and planned it for 2 months, but now I feel GUILTY for indulging it on "me time" for a break from reality. I got a great deal on the package and didn't over spend at the mall but I still feel guility for not spending it on something and someone else like my son. (even though I did get him 2 new video games before I left so he wouldn't pester the babysitter.)

Was I wrong or should I have done something with him? or just stayed at home?

Are you kidding? You deserve it! We all deserve a little "us" time and pampering once in a while. Don't feel guilty. There is always plenty for everyone else other times. You sound like me.

Good for you! Every once in awhile, you have to take care of you.
I just booked a trip to Florida to see my sister. Things have been a little stressful lately. So.... a little sister time for me. Yeah!

No way should you feel guilty. Try looking at it this way - if you don't take care of yourself you will get sick and have less time and patience for your son. Leisure activites are very important (or so all the psych book say!).

Honey please don't feel guilty for indulging in a little bit of R & R for yourself. In the long run, it helps your mental and emotional well being overall and is well worth the money spent. Plus, it gets us in a better mood for our family when we return. If we can forgive ourselves the indulgence........... ;)

I congratulate you for planning for it and budgeting for it. If you had done it impulsively and then couldn't pay your light bill that would be irrational behavior but you gave yourself a little treat which I'm sure you deserved. I just paid for 3 nights at the beach for myself next weekend and I'm going to enjoy every minute of the hotel and the restaurant there. Good for you!!

Everyone deserves a "Me" time. No need to feel guilty, plus you did get your son a gift...so you were thinking of him. I know what you mean about feeling guilty, but it sounds like you had an awsome time. Way to go, am proud of you. You were taking care of yourself!

Once in a while honey, you NEED the "me" time. I always feel the same way when I go through days like yours...but on the other hand I'm so grateful for that time away. It helps refresh you for everything else in the world. You can have special time for your son soon, or get something for him when you have the money, etc. Just allow yourself to have your own time. Even 'normal' people need 'me time'.

Thank you for all the support I am feeling better about it now. Espically since I got my Disab pay and know all the usual expenses are covered.

You are right I needed the me time and feeling guilty was ruining the benefit of what it was intended to do.

Thanks everyone now what do I plan for the next "me time" experience???

Colors will be changing for fall- you could go to a TN or KY state resort park. They have rustic lodges that are like hotels. Sit on your own balcony and just reeeeeeelax.

Throw that guilt out the door and quit beating yourself up over the head with a baseball bat. If it makes you feel any better my dh and I took a vacation last week and left our son (age 20) here alone with the cat. He does nor drive so couldn't go anywhere. Don't feel guilty sometimes we need to take care of ourselves first and that sounds like exactly what you did. Saving up for it too was very smart. Good for you I say.
