Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
this morning I am grateful for 3 and 1/2 hrs of good sleep in my lovely warm comfortable bed. It is twenty years old but I still think of it and appreciate is as my 'new bed' ha ha.
As always I am very happy to have a roof over my head in a nice quiet spot in a small village with oil heating installed as I can no longer lift solid fuel for the range.
The plumber is to come today or tomorrow to disconnect the range in my kitchen which I can no longer use as I am unable to lift the fuel needed. It will give me wonderful extra space in my kitchen, perhaps to put in two small comfy armchairs and i can finally get it painted so am very much looking forward to that.
I just had a delicious bowl of oatmeal with blueberries, honey and orange pieces which was yummy and am enjoying a huge mug of hot tea.
I am so pleased with all the progress this week with clearing my house, filling bags for charity with the encouragement of ML for which I am extremely grateful.
it is pelting down sleet and snow outside just now and increased gratitude for being inside in the warmth. I often worry about Heritic at this time, she has been absent for some time now and her wit was always an added boon to our days.
a bg thank you and hugs for the ongoing support here on DS which eases my life enormously.
and oh, the joy and pleasure of an epsom salts bath with essential oils in my immediiate future once the house is warm enough. Yay.
check in and just say hello if you are around.
Please add anything that comes to mind.
thank you in advance.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Irish you've been a busy bee my friend. So what will you cook on now that the range has gone and have you decided on blue for the pain color or a different color?
I'm greatful that Thor is benefiting from ECT and his suffering has diminished. Yes I greatly benefited from ECT in 2010 when my BiPolar Disorder had become medication resistant and I quit, life no longer had meaning. I have a high IQ, had an Eidetic Memory, and a Professional Career to consider, so ECT was a tough choice and I had to have a large number of Sessions....but came through with very few cognitive issues. Although my Eidetic Memory was fractured, I still pretty much remember most things, lost a couple of IQ points and chose to semi-retire and not work so much, but have been very Stable for the last 9 years.
I am grateful for my kitten Rambo who I've had now for 1 month, she's definitely added some personality to the house.
Found out today that the Bronchitis I've been fighting has turned to Pneumonia in my left lung, so not so grateful for that.
Now just taking it easy for the weekend, staying in out of the cold, rainy weather.
Love this time of year with my work family when trips and Trade Shows are done and we all get the chance to be back in the office together and hang out for the last 2 months of the year. We'll be adding a baby to that family early summer, so that's an awesome thing.
Very proud of the Teens in the Self Harm group that I mentor, they work so hard, and get very little credit most of the time. Its not easy being a teenage in today's world...and these kids don't have the easiest lives, but they dig in and do the work to help themselves get better and they're awesome!!!
And of course all my friends and peeps on the BiPolar Board, truly wonderful people here, and the new friends I meet.
I have a separate cooker I have been unable to use the range/stove for over six years now because of the inability to lift coal/turf and lifting the heavy top off for cleaning.
I am ridiculously disappointed that the plumber did not show up yesterday as wolfgang arrived with the equipment to get it into his van and I would be rid of it. I'll try calling the plumber today but he prob doesn't work saturdays.
I am grateful this morning for my hot tea, yogurt and banana light breakfast as it was very early.
I am grateful that my sleep seems to have increased regularly from 1 and 1/2 hrs to 3 and 1/2 hrs most nights now which is a big improvement.
I am grateful that my hands a less painful this morning with the use of voltarol gel - it is so good and helps the neck and shoulder area too.
I am happy and grateful that it is saturday morning and there will be no major activity today.
I am grateful that my oil supply is holding out right now and the house is still lovely and warm.
hugs and a very good day to all.
keep posting. all the positive things happening in our lives are good to see written down and lend hope to some dark days!
I think at this time of year especially I'm grateful for a roof over my head and food in the cupboards.
I'm grateful that my sister pulled through a serious heart surgery and is at last out of intensive care.
I'm grateful for my husband who helps me on a thousand different fronts.
I'm grateful for friendship of any kind!
Be well my DS friends!
Happy that my kitchen is now beautiful and the plumber came out on his saturday morning to do the disconnecting of pipes for me.
grateful as always for my lovely bedroom and bed where I can comfortably recover after days of overdoing things.
grateful for my walking/stick cane which I do not ever view as 'giving in', I too am early 50's and initially resisted it but then thought 'what the hell, it is what it is and bought a beautiful one!' so I am grateful that at least if I must use one it is very pretty!
grateful that my right hand has eased and I can more easily lift my flask of coffee again - wonderful.
Grateful that my low mood as a result of having no help and being unable to afford to pay someone to help as lifted and I got the job done myself.
Grateful for the glass of delicious pinot noir I am about to enjoy with my dinner, it is now 8.30pm and about time to get some food into me. I often forget to eat and it was 8.30am when I had my lovely yogurt with fresh raspberries.
very grateful for the good friends at the other end of the phone who have been of huge support during the past week.
Please add to this.
Thank you all - you keep me going. Big hugs.
I am still grateful for my bed though, oh and coffee!
Have an excellent day. Laughter is the best medicine.
Curse on Irish, what we do in the comfort of our own homes is our business!! lol
I'm going to attempt to mop the kitchen floors and switch the living room furniture around to make room for the "Cat Climbing/Nesting Tower" that I ordered for Rambo. My house cleaner has the flu, so told her to stay away from my house today...do not want a 2nd go around with the flu.
Have a great Friday!!!
On this rainy damp to the bones day, only Chachi could move me from my bed to feed her...Grateful for her soft purrs and cuddles.
I made it to noon, back to bed, LOL until the next 'meow' came, happy kitty with umbrella waving tail. This time the little Chachi went to her favorite spot to nap again, me I did my exercising....grateful I was able to Move beyond the lethargic mindset. ..made some fresh zucchini and apple soup for lunch...grateful for ds to give me a place to post and have friends encouragement!
Trying to lift my mood, I went to Utube and found another 30 minutes of exercise...laughing BGT David is beyond words! Love Him!!!

I have so many other things to be grateful for.... waking up every morning to see bright baby blue eyes looking at me and smelling that wonderful baby smell that I can’t get enough of than tickling them and hearing that baby laugh. They keep me going that is for sure.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend going to do some hiking. Lots of rain the last couple of days and now the world just seems so fresh and clean. There is nothing like hiking with bright blue skies and the warmth of the sun. So grateful my babies enjoy the same thing grateful they still fit barely in the backpacks on our backs. Here is to see everything that is beautiful in this world. Namaste Pema
