Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I know i am still the same as I was before but now stressing about my job. I have talked to my boss about the process and have told her tonight about the diagnoses. Anyway I stupidly sent her a message asking of she still liked me ffs anyway she has not text me back so now i feel stupid and bloody paranoid.
I spoke to my mum and dad and they have both said that they suspdted it for years and that they are pleased with the diagnoses because it would explain alot.
Don't really know why i am crying all though I have been on a dowber for the past few days anyway.
work should not treat you different if they do, sue them under breach of employment rights and equality rights 2010 :) x

You have a lot of mental processing to do.
Learn as much as you can, keep in close contact with your Health Team.
You have the answer to what's been going on in your life....now it's time to learn how to manage it
Good luck

I was shocked/confused/relieved and everything in between when I was first diagnosed last August. I was in the hospital after having gone on yet another run-away drunk. I had been seeking treatment for 20+ years but ended up sort of trapped in the chemical dependency world, which, in my case, did not function cooperatively with mental health care.
I remember thinking "Are you kidding me?" All this torment and heartache over years of being undiagnosed and unmedicated? I think I felt like a previous poster who expressed relief that his actions weren't the result of moral bankruptcy.
It's going to be ok. You are in such a better position to lead the life of your making now that you have all the cards on the table. Hang in there!
Nothing can beat me not even me!
I know how it feels.....I suspected my son had autism but when the dev ped confirmed it I lost cabin pressure...
Hang in there... I started running again this week and it's a great tool to add to the mix ( almost as good as the meds)
Welcome sweetie, everyone here is awesome
