Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Thanks. Big HUGS!!
have you watched avatar yet? i almost want to carve out a tree and start a village, the next place you will see me is on the cover of national geographic wearing a thong and a necklace made of animal bones.
i will take the meds too just in case it doesnt work out for me, oh and the malaria... hmmm what to do about that???
nah keep the meds... do you ever say this, "satan i rebuke you get behind me in the name of Jesus" it helps a bunch when i am getting attacked.
I have been on phone with a faith-filled friend of mine. She is going to be in prayer for me and she is going to call me back with some bible scriptures for me to read. I have been getting back into reading my bible again. I am miserable.........which is what the ole devil wants, but I am taking my meds. Thanks guys.
If you think God is telling you to go off your meds, I truly, believe that is the devil you are listening to. I speak as someone who has been off meds for 3 years. I did it slowly, with the help of my pdoc, and learning everything I could about this illness. God doesn't challenge us to become what we aren't. I prayed for a long time for healing from bipolar, and God gave me a definite NO! He said that part of what I am, comes from the same source as this disease. I would not be the creative, lively, Type A personality if I wasn't bipolar. I would not have the empathy, the understanding of people's suffering without this disease.
When Jesus returns, we will be made perfect. Until that time, we have to see through a "glass darkly". That means learning and growing. Read Romans 5:3-5 - that is what keeps me going.
Still have your faith in God.
I'm going to stay away from the God subject because I think everyone is entitled to believe in whatever they want. What I will give you is a first hand account of what happened to me when I went off meds 2 years ago. I lowered my dosages until I went completely off of them against my doctors advice. I was able to achieve some stability through healthy eating habits and regular exercise, but all it took was a bad breakup to send me spiraling down again. I am now back to square one, visiting my pdoc regularly and having her tweak my meds so I can be stable again. I like to compare meds to a spare tire. Having it around is kind of annoying but when something bad does happen you will be very grateful for having it there. Best of luck to you.
