Sounds like you might have akathisia, which is uncontrollable anxiety which makes you feel like you want to crawl out of your skin. I would contact my pdoc ASAP, before it gets worse.

When I was on Geodon, I did not have akathisia, but got tremors and had a seizure.

My doc put me on Artane (Trihexyphenidyl) to try to help with the shaking, and she said it should help with nervousness...I don't think it is working though.
I tried to get ahold of her today, but did not get a call back yet. I don't think that she thinks it is the Geodon. I am very sensitive to side effects. I just don't want her to think I am disagreeable to taking my meds, but I can't think of what else could be causing it.

i started feeling crazy when i first started taking geodon so he raised my dose and i started feeling great. i've felt pretty much good since i've been on it... picked up a twitch on 120mg so went down to 100mg and its been perfect for me

I've gone from taking 80mgs to 40mgs at this point. The higher dosage gave me an incredible hangover in the morning, I was falling asleep at the wheel. It took 4 hours after I woke up for it to wear off. I just couldn't function.
I am thinking that Geodon just isn't the one for me. Unfortunately I have had to pay out of pocket for it...I have 3 bottles in varying strengths at home, and I will most likely just have to toss them. Avg cost of ten dollars a pill, damn. I may as well just throw my money out the window.

have you tried taking a chill pill to counteract that? ie/ xanax?

I am hoping that my doc will give me something to help me chill when I see her on Friday.
I am just afraid it will make me too sedated.
I can't even tell if anything is working.

I felt like that on Geodon. Yeah it was akathesia and it was awful. I was told to try benadryl which is what they use sometimes but I don't know how it would react with the other med your pdoc gave you. There are different meds that can be prescribed for akathesia and I'm not sure why mine didn't prescribe one for me. I've been on so many meds I can't remember. Benadryl helped a little but not enough for me. I didn't take very much of the benadryl because I didn't want to be tired all day.

When you get akathisia, it is time to change the meds. Benadryl and other similar drugs only mask the symptoms. You don't know long term what this drug is doing to your body.

When I got akathisia on Abilify, I was taken off of it, and put on something else.

When i was on geodon I had horrible anxiety that led to being almost hypo-manic. It was supposed to help for sleep, but gave me terrible insomnia and anxiety. I literally thought I was losing my mind for a few days...PDoc took me off of it immediately. He put me on Pexeva and Klonopin for sleep and anxiety and those seem to be working. But, as far as all the different meds I've been on that one was by far the worst. I would def talk to your pdoc about it. I feel your pain, it was the absolute worst.

i've been on Geodon for serveral months with no problems and I am at 160 mg. I am just starting anxiety so O do not contribute it ti GEodon but hte depression I have been feeling. Do what you feel is best for you. Best of luck!

I've been on many drugs for hypomania. Never in my life have I had a panic attack until I started Geodon for insomnia. I ended up in the ER twice. I had no stress, I was always incredibly happy. I had debilitating panic attack after panic attack for no reason at all. I had horrid chest pain for a month and lost feeling in my limbs. I even tried chakra balancing, hypnosis and acupuncture. Once I stopped taking it and switched to Triliptal no more panic or anxiety.

yes. geodon fd me up worse than any drug. I felt like a caged animal then i started to pass out...

I do not experience it. But there is a side effect (forget the name for it) but it causes shaking and skin crawling. Call your doc.

Geodon is an incredibly dangerous drug and has - in fact - been banned from use in many other countries. It is not a good choice in my opinion as the side effects are severe and long term use is very hard on the body. And, yes, it can cause or worsen anxiety. Ask you doctor for an alternative.

My experience very similar to CottonKandie. I also never had a panic attack until Geodon then I had three in a row and ended up hospitalized for a week.
