I still submit my pulmonary embolism story (from the other post) as proof that BP is lethal. Dr. Orange is not a psychiatrist anyway. I would only trust a psychiatrist specializing in BP.

Besides, the point was not to reassure the 99.9% of BPrs who won't have to deal with it to not worry, which is the typical answer you will get. It was a general question, in principle. If it happens to one person, it's possible.

And why is suicide not taken as a cause of death (by bipolar)? Maybe you have not been suicidal enough to judge the urge. Know-it-all. (I'm attempting an insult) Better to take somebody else's experience as information, then to deny it.

Nick, aren't you the one always talking about how we're guinea pigs and doctors don't always know what they're doing and we don't always need meds, etc? Why now do you go with the doctor's opinion? Just curious.

"You guys", I think I've given two or three opinions in all of these threads about this. I was just wondering why now you're taking a doctor's word for it when before I'd heard you say the things you've said. It was just a question.

Personally, I think this disorder can damage our brains, but that the chemical imbalance itself cannot kill us. At least not with what med science knows now, and that is key. But I think it obviously drives people to suicide, and I do think that should be taken into consideration. Ultimately, people die because of Bipolar. IMHO.

I am not closed minded I will keep my mind open to anything and like to hear what everyone has to say about a subject.

I just figured since she is an actual Dr. I would like to see her input on it as well.
