I've been up all night. DD (age 35) came home drunk after several serious outbursts today. I'm really worried. Don't think she's alcoholic, but has been without meds for over a month (no insurance.) Husband and kids (6 & 4) are at wit's end. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Social services is a great idea. Maybe talk to her pdoc if she has one? When I went through a bout with insurance for a year, my pdoc gave me samples of my meds as long as I was consistent about seeing him.
But that is me. . .
Gentle support while you find what works for you, lovey.
Her being in that house self-medicating with alcohol and causing trouble and stress to those children is not a good scene. It only takes 1 anonymous call to CPS and the kids could be removed from the home. Is she loud, do the neighbors hear her when she's ranting and raging?
I'd take a step back and think about whats really important here. Your daughter needs help, but she's an adult and the only person that can make her get help is herself, when she's at her lowpoint and tired of living the way she is.
But in the meantime, your & the husbands focus should be on keeping those safe and that house does not sound like a safe place, mentally or physically. If it were me, I'd find her somewhere else to stay until she's ready to get help and become a contributing member of the family, not the problem.
Take care,
