First post and wondering about BP w/psychosis

Hello, this is my first post. I have rapid cycling Bipolar 1 with psychosis. I have periods of hallucinations and I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this. I’m actually in the throes of an attack right now. I just haven’t ever met someone who is like me and I thought I’d ask. Thanks!

ECT is used for severe Treatment Resistant BiPolar and BiPolar w/Psychosis. Its not generally used if medications and other therapies manage Episodes.

I've had several cycles of ECT for Suicidal Depression that was resistant to all treatment, 3 months worth, 3 x week, every week. Its not something you choose to do unless its the last thing there is that you and your Pdoc believe will work. It can be very effective, but its a very difficult thing to endure and it's not a quick fix.

I did mine September 2009 thru January 2010, I started impatient after being in a Private Psych Hospital for 1 month, did my first 2 months inpatient and finished outpatient. I've not had a Suicidal Severe Depressed state since.

It is somewhat difficult.
But, When you've reached the point of it being recommended, you aren't in a state of mind of caring.

It was, years ago, immediately and greatly effective for me.

I concur, ECT is the reason I'm alive today, because at the time, I had no will to live at all and there was nothing fixing that....ECT was the wisdom and guidance of a really good Pdoc.

Irish, I'm on vraylar 7.5mg and the most stable I've ever been. I noticed the mixed state diminishing almost immediately and felt a lot better by the time I hit 3mg. I was at 6mg for a while and now I notice some depression creeping back in so I'm up to 7.5. My pdoc will dose vraylar up to 12mg so we shall see.

Worth a mention to the pdoc?
