No the correct medical definition. mum was a nurse I've looked it up in her nurses dictionary.

Really I just had this conversation with a ex medical nurse today she hadnt work in the system for over 20 years but she did know that when I brought it up. I also dated a student Tdoc in her second year of study once shocked the hell out of her I knew. It's really so poetic you really can't forget.

I'm asking the Pnurse

Really I know all the staff are evaluated to how they can handle the stress of working in the system ie if they have a mental illness.

I had to leave nursing a few years ago... I worked in the community for 15 years and specialized in psych during that time after being diagnosed... I really felt the stigma after I was off ill for almost three years...my manager said she decided that she was okay with me when I answered I knew when I was getting ill and wouldnt come to work... I worked in a medium security facility when I knew I needed to get out.. things were so bad there.. I hated the way I saw staff treating patients.. this was when my folks were ill and it sent me spiraling..I needed to leave it for good...

I also needed to get 3 doctors notes testifying I was okay to work... the pdoc finally said he wouldnt discuss me with my work any longer and if they had any more questions they could ask me directly.. he became angry.. .the stigma was very apparent..x

now Im thinking back and on a roll.. this was an organization that had a mental health team and were supposed to be specialists..
When I left nursing for good... I was working as I said in a medium security facility... I watched Nurse Wrachet trigger a patient with poor impulse control into acting out.. he coincidentally has schizophrenia ..I testified on his behalf as they tried to put him in a maximum security facility...I saw people .. nursing staff behave terribly... full of themselves.. full of the desire to overpower and control people and it made me sick.... I resigned from my position and from the College of Nurses...brings back a lot of difficult times...but Im glad I helped a young man who suffered from his caregivers..x

Thanks Asch.. really I never did take it personally... what pissed me off so much was the stigmatization...I felt strong enough to take it on but I see it crushing so many.. so many people won't reach out for help because of it.. and it's very difficult even when you feel fit enough it takes a toll
Right now I need to do some things for me, however I do want to get back into volunteer work I think for the Mood Disorder Assoc...x
