Hey Sun- work is getting harder- now we are gonna have to work mandatory overtime to do data entry for the tornado victims to get food stamps- 7 days a week for the next three to four weeks- I may just have a breakdown LOL

I remember back when St Louis flooded in 96 - I was working for Sherwood Medical which back then was a subsidiary of Kraft Food. There was our plant in NE and then the one in St Louis .

They closed the one in St Louis do to the lood and moved what machinary was salvagable to us. The l flooding happened late summer early fall and we were immediately informed that shifts were being stretched from 8 hours to 12 and 7 day a week would be mandatory until urther notice. I almost lost my job during the 9 months we ran 7 days a week cuz of having pneumonia and being in the hospital. Finally like 4 months after no time off we were granted 1 day a month our pick except for holidays. Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day and New Years was spent checking plastic surgical products for defects. The pay was antastic 900 a week on a non holiday week but it was wicked on the mental.

I'm glad to be helping out those people, but at the same time.....they made it mandatory and as state employees we don't get overtime, we get comp time. So, no extra money, just extra work. I'm trying ot stay positive about this though. At this rate I'll have so much leave there's no way they'll be able to tell me I can'tt ake a day off in August LOL

what does it mean New Orleans is going to flood on may23rd?

I Googled that flooding and the Mississippi River is having the worst floods that it's had since 1937. Here's what they predict will happen.

Also of concern is the forecast for the Mississippi to crest at 19.5 feet in New Orleans on May 23. The levees in New Orleans protect the city for a flood of 20.0 feetthat is not much breathing room.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that!!!

It's not the end of the world, but it's sure hard on the people who are being affected by it!!!!
