it's ok W, I am being overly sensitive today, we didn't go to Mardi Gras as the weather here was turning bad and Paul and I both are flaring and neither of us is very good in crowds anymore, everyone at my house just wanted to sleep late- the kids are out of school for most of the week and are enjoying not having to get up early, although I saw on the news New Orleans was kickin' it up big time yesterday, they (the news) said it hasn't been that corwded in years, so I guess people are finally coming back to New Orleans Mardi Gras

W- forgot to add- why are you in awe of the human race?

The first part of the awe which was the bad part came when I got back from running an hour errand. The NYC ACC had gone on a bloody rampage and put down 14 dogs before noon 2 under the age of a year. Even for them that is an exterem - those numbers are known in GA & SC but NYC is a bit under that. Yesterday in retaliation for fake holds being put on 3 dogs - and noone has stepped up to take blame on that one whether they did it truly with good in their hearts or not they sentenced those dogs to what happened next - ACC found out somehow about the fake holds long about 430 or so and all 3 dogs were quickly killed . No questions asked no answers given.

The good part of my awe came about 20 minutes ago. 3 of the very few that were spared this morning but probably wouldnt have made it til morning and if they did would have gone down early got pulled right behind the end of the killings this morning. One was a pregnant young one.

I just don't get how anyone can live with themselves when they truly get into their job that much and putting down animals is their job. Before anyone jumps me - I am well aware of the problems with pet overpopulation and the conditions and over crowding of the shelters (probably more so than most of you) but I am also aware of the power trips and the out and out unlawful practices going on and in the end its dogs and cats paying for this with their lives when the only "crime" they have ever committed is to be born. These aren't vicious animals these are animals that have done nothing wrong and they are getting caught in the middle and paying for it with their lives. I am in awe every moment of every day that those in power and authority get off on some of the sick shit they do to other living things

that's terrible to hear, i don't know how people can live with themselves and do things like that

Its bad enough that pet owners do this to their own dogs/cats ect but then when these animals are removed from the abuse or run from it they are then ultimately one last and final time abused by those in authority that are supposed to save them or at the very least give it a decent try before kindly putting them down and instead go fucking nuts and kill happy and shorten these animals lives even more so just because they have had a bad day or some caring person fucked up and did something that perhaps they shouldnt have.
