Does anyone know of any finanical disability other than ODSP, for ppl in Ontario or anywhere in Canada? I live with my common law husband
and because he works I am not eligable for any disability that I know of example- ODSP. I want to work, but half the time I don't feel that I am ready. Not sure if it's because I haven't worked in almost 2 yrs or what. I can't work throughout the week because we couldn't afford daycare. For me to work would be pointless. We are on list for subcity daycare, and it's about 2 yr wait list. My hubby doesn't make a lot and debts are catching up fast. That's basicelly my story. I was in the process of trying to get long term disability, but my psychiartrist says he can't say I would be unable to work forever and its a long term thing and plus he doesn't like to fill out any kind of forms. I herd I probably don't meet the requirments anyways, my reason is not good enough. shakes head*

and although having your psychiatrist actually doing his job and helping you would be a good start having a lawyer seems to be the best way of winning though l'm unsure if applications go through the court system in canada. My advice to you if it really needs to come from your psychiatrist would be to find another or a therapist.
l'm on long term help but no-one believes it will be forever i'm at a point in my life where working in the next few months is not possible because l rapid cycle badly. Try mentioning to your Pyschiatrist that you will try to get a therapist/ Dr or lawyer to write out a letter and all he needs to do is read agree and sign it, he sounds lazy to me.
I'm in Alberta and on CPP disability . I am also married and have been on it since 2006. If in the future I feel well enough to return to work I have 4 months until they will close my file. But your pdoc will need to fill out the forms , however he will get paid $75.00 from CPP.

CPP is that long term disability? When I mention CPP to some ppl they say that is pension money for ppl who are retired. I think they are wrong. I was just gonna try my GP cause my pdoc wont do shit as far as forms go.
