Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I know this probably sounds immature, but today I'm just feeling tired of working so hard at being stable. Yeah, the meds are working great but I still have to do my part in working at stability too. And that's fine, I know that's what I need to do. It's just today I'm tired of working at it all the time. I guess I'm just weary today. I know I sound like a child. Does anyone else ever feel this way? I know I can't entertain this feeling or it can lead me into slipping into depression. So I have to work at guarding my thoughts today. Ugh. It just never ends. I can't allow myself to feel this way. I'll just acknowledge it and then get to work at overriding this potential emotional rut.

Good Thursday to you!I've been watching a really long trial on Youtube these last couple of nights and will finish tomorrowHopefully I'll be in the land of nod soon and I hope my peeps are having sweet dreams followed by a great daySending hugs...xo
Gentle empathy, Melise. It do get weary. . .
For what it's worth, appreciation exercises are my most effective therapy tool during my weariest moments. e.g. Find three things in my immediate surroundings worthy of appreciation.
1) Great weather today.
2) The paint I just finished putting up looks great.
3) My support dog loves me enough to breathe paint fumes with me.
I think there are some feelings that people in general can have and I think anyone can feel weary now and then..... I hope you feel better soon.....xo
But think about it, we have these minds that we are at odds with on a regular basis. And we are all trying to learn and develop coping skills that better our lives. Not only cope, but we also must be high functioning with the general population. And each day that we "win" the "battle" (of our minds) is a successful day. (And those that don't' are not by any means weak)
I don't think the every day person (without any mental illness and/or trauma) has that kind of mental fortitude, perseverance, and resilience. I could be wrong. If you can see how strong we really are, that is the blessing.
PS I am sorry that was so long. I am proud of you for sharing and finding the good. Arfie- your dictionary comment gave me a giggle. Thank you.
