And each day you increase your time out of bed and up doing something. Add a 2nd 15 minute walk outside in the morning or midday. Take a shower each day either in the morning or in the evening, whichever relaxes you the most. Spend some time out of bed working on coping skills like breathing exercises, relaxation exercises, writing in a journal, getting all the dark, sad, scary, angry, depressed feelings out of your head and dumped onto paper. Holding them in your head does absolutely no good, getting them out each day, helps you not carry them into the next day.
Crawling out of depression takes work, a conscious effort. Its done in small steps each day and you build onto those steps day by day, until your back in the world functioning and living. Its a "Fake it Till You Make It" kind of existence....but its well proven and it does work. Change of scenery with short outside walks during the day, help immensely. Making sure your eating something throughout the day is important, and yes smoothies and protein shakes count. Just moving your scenery inside from out of the bed to a different room helps. Showering/bathing each day or every other day is important...it makes a big difference in how you feel when your clean and put clean clothes on. I know this sounds like a lot, but it's really not. Its a matter of making up your mind that you do not want to feel like this anymore and your ready to do what you must to break the depression cycle and start working your way out of it.
I'm speaking from 32 years of experience on this.
Take care,
