Depakote Dosing

Who takes it and what's ur dose currently....

Doc just upped mine to 1500.

I'm worried about the dose raise.

But something needs done--

I can't continue to rapid cycle.

I will die first.

Depakote has been the ONLY med that has worked for me ..controlling my mood swings and rage.

I do feel a bit blunted and flat.

My Pdoc started me out at 500 MG, I felt WONDERFUL...but still a bit hypo-manic

Next he upped the dosage to 1000...I didn't feel so well, and was feeling yucky.

Next he upped me to 1500 MG..this is the usual dosage .

At 1500 MG , I felt REALLY HORRIBLE !

SO we settled on a dosage of 750....which I have been on for the last 4 years , and have maintained stability.

SOmetimes you get the right med, but have to work on correct dosages

Lithium worked for me at first cuz I'm a type one Bipolar--but at the reccomended dose I was throwing up the pills and geting sour tummy eating or not--so I had to find something else--at the lower dose it was working okay--wish they would have let it build up slowly until I needed a higher dose.

I'm BP I also
I went toxic on Lithium, so I can't take that med.

Also , I can not take Anti-Depressants , because of mania issues .

Currently I am on
750 Depakote
22 Mg BuSpar
Xanax taken as needed

this combo has worked well for me

I am new to Depakote and am only taking a big 250mgs. So far so good.

Well simon I hope that whopping one 250 mg pill is helping. I currently take 4 250 mg pills and tomorrow the dose goes from 4 to 6 pills

I keep talking to my Pdoc about dropping that 250 Mg, and go to a 500 dosage.

Problem is, it took so long to get me stable, I am afraid of the risk of going manic, and then not being able to re-stabilize

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
