Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Makes me feel like somebody up there just might care about me more than I realize.
Affirmations are statements that are said in the present tense, such as "I am successful in my work". This is an example of a simple affirmation. Another one could be "I am getting fitter every day." (which is one of your goals)
Affirmations can be spiritual, material or whatever you want them to be. There are no rules about what can or cannot be an affirmation. If something is important to you, it can be an affirmation. ((hugs)) polar
Good luck to you and remember what a great person you are. :)

I agree with Polar that the affirmations have to come from your will. Ask yourself what you want to achieve, what you want to do, what you know to be true, and focus on those aspects rather than the things you cant do or you are not or that are not true.
A better form of affirmations for me is "choices" affirmations. In these, you identify with your emotions and feelings and own them and then decide what you WILL do about them to feel better or progress forward. It is part of EFT which you can google to learn more about the program. Actually they teach positive affirmations in CBT which I thought you had taken.
Choices affirmations for you might be something like this....."I feel like I make my husband unhappy", "I choose to find ways to be a better wife to him."
"I feel like I am overweight", "I choose to exercise every day."
"I feel frustrated because my kids are better at WII", "I choose to work at it every day until I feel better about how I do on the WII."
"I feel like nothing is good about me". "I choose to focus on my good qualities, not my bad qualities."
If you do this every time you feel a negative emotions, you are recognizing the emotion, owning it, and then making a positive commitment to be better and to feel better. If every time a negative emotion enters your head, you cower and give in, then you will ALWAYS feel bad because you do not allow any positive energy into your psyche.
My suggestion would be to spend some time online googling about positive affirmations and ways to find a positive path. It isnt easy, but the negative alternative is very damaging and very counter productive.
If you have any questions, ask......but, this is something you have to learn to do. There are lots of programs available to teach you to do this. If you took CBT, get out your old notebooks and re-read them.
