THATS WHY!
but if anyone knows the answer to my question i would really be greatful for a response.
The score is based on having credit, debt/income ratio, assets and payment history. If you don't have credit, your score actually decreases.
After awhile, the score will recover from the payoff.
Credit scores go down if you payoff early too.
I don't know what your level of debt is, but once you get them paid off, I would recommend keeping only one and using it for a small purchase once a month and then paying it off in full each month. I was able to raise my credit score 86 points in 5 months just by making the small purchases and paying them off.
Also, my credit card gives me my monthly credit score as a courtesy. If you want more info about that, you can let me know.
By the way, I think this is a topic of concern for many people with BP who are in recovery.
Good luck!
