Life has been really hard this past year. I'm really feeling down and alone. I can't talk to my family about my depression and anxiety their not very understanding about it. It's really hitting me since my mother passed a few months ago, plus stress from having to eventually move. Also having my niece coming around who suffers bipolar and refuses to take medication for it. Its been...

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

1 Got on medication, it took the edge off.
2. Talked to my therapist, we worked on techniques to distract myself
from the thoughts, like watching T.V. or listening to music and then
we worked on how to face the thought and take away their power.
3. I bought a book, DBT for Bipolar. I am really good with self help
books and a lot of the activities in there helped me get past the
bad thoughts
I hope this is helpful and good luck.
I suggest that you take some of that advice and try it, even if you've tried it in the past without any success.
Perhaps a different kind of therapy than you had before will work better for you.
Maybe therapy would help you drop the anger that you say you still feel about your friend who stopped you from dying when you tried to commit suicide. I don't know how much that would help, but carrying anger around for a long time isn't good for you.
Although you may be disappointed that your weren't successful in your suicide attempt, I don't really see what other choice your friend had but to try to save you.
Ten years is so long to live in torment. Especially when you can't even escape from it in your sleep.
I hope you find some way to get out of this deeply ingrained thought process.
Good luck!!! (((((Hugs)))))
