Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I don't mind having varying interests but I try to control the expense by doing a lot of study before laying out the cash and that helps, since I know myself. It's not at all unusual so
know yourself and enjoy!
I've always chocked this tendency up to just being interested in lots of things. That's not the case. A few years ago I spent $7K on all types of equipment for a hobby that I, within the course of a few weeks, decided wasn't for me. Insane! I also grow very bored of jobs in a matter of a few months. Once I learn the ropes of a any job I figure it's time to move on. Again, crazziness.
I hope you can get a handle on your changing interests. Hopefully I will as well. Does anyone else have any comments?
Hobbies... College degree... Where to live... Can't settle on any of that. And it's funny you talk of pets, this week, I've told everyone "Well I either want mice, snakes, or a lizard of some sort. Maybe a lil dog or something?" I've been turning over those four choices for almost a year now. Oi.
I mention it to my doctors. I just let them know I get pretty anxious if I stay within the same subject for too long. I think about what I'm missing out, what I'm messing up, and all the stupid ideas that seemed brilliant leading into the choice. It's frustrating... Glad to know others are like that too.
I am the worst at returning items. Actually my husband has been kind enough to return them for me. In better days, I'd have the two sofas full of purchases with the receipts neatly organized so I could return impulsive buying items.
My hobbies change too. The only thing I have stuck with is gardening. I hop around a lot in gardening. Sometimes I buy house plants or shrubs or trees. For a while I was rootone woman. I was rooting every plant I saw.
A few months ago there was a dump truck for sale. If I would have had the money, I would be delivering rocks and dirt now. It was a good deal on the dump truck and it was orange. I'd pass by it everyday thinking someday I'll have a delivery business.
I would still love to have land to plant trees and shrubs, but I doubt if I'd sell them. I just love the neat rows and walking between the rows.
Now I'm into seeds. I have seeds for flowers, vegetables and herbs. The vegetables my family can eat and the herbs will be gifts for a few people I want to thank.
I guess that is the good part with gardening. I am always switching around inside the hobby. With gardening I have structures I build or rooms I take over for plants.
Plants are also my therapy. I am highly tactile so I love evergreens that are soft to the touch. I have sharp pointed plants for visual appeal.
So, no you are not alone.

I really do think this is a manifestation of being BP.
I'm too cheap/poor to put out lots of money on hobbies, so I have none except the interwebs and TV.
