i'm beginning to suffer not just mentally but also physically now. i didn't sleep much last night. when i did sleep for an hour or two i was woken up by intense chest pain. i concluded that it was a panic attack or anxiety attack from all the stress i've been under. i didn't eat much today either which is new for me. i simply don't have an appetite anymore. i just want to go to sleep and stay asleep. it's just easier that way

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
There is not a doubt in my own mind that my mental and physical health are deeply connected. I can't seem to impact one without impacting the other. I wish staying asleep forever was an option. Alas, that, too, is a ticket to still more physical misery. The good news is that a positive impact on one will create a positive impact on the other. Small, positive impacts on my health are easier than trying to sleep more after my second day of *just* sleeping.
The toughest part of this illness is having to tell on yourself when things get out of balance. Sounds like they are going in that direction. Get in touch with your pdoc and explain that the mood seems to be strong at the moment and is interfering with your ability to find a healthy balance....
It sucks at the moment but things can change please don't lose sight of that!
You need to call your Pdoc and figure out if this is a med issue or a dose issue or what can be done to help you get out of this slump. Sometimes you just have to make yourself do it, whether you want to or not.
The one food I always keep in my fridge is greek yogurt, because I hate food, and eating is a chore to me, I don't like it and I often forget....when I'm very depressed I can easily go days/weeks without eating....so I keep the yogurt because I know I can force something small like that down, without too much inner bickering with myself.
Getting up and showering, changing clothes, even going out for a short walk in the sunshine can all help you get through the Depression. You have to force yourself, I won't lie, but most of the time you feel better for it.
I hope your Pdoc can help you out of this slump.
Take care,
K
