For PTSD, isn't it common to repress all memories of the original trauma?
I can remember stuff from age 4, but have three missing years, in my late teens, that I cannot remember anything.

The repression of memories most likely occurred in a dissociative state.
fight or flight.
There are so many overlapping symptoms. Who's to ever tell?! Hopefully, a professional.
dissociating in midst of trauma= also a human reflex not specific to those with PTSD or anything else
think it's if you get in habit of dissociating as a result of a severe trauma that it becomes pathological or diagnosable ...just my understanding.
