i think the only reason they pick on smokers is because most of the people in the government drink, so smoking to them is worse. bunch of crap if you ask me.

It's true Rin alcohol is cheaper because they are much more to pratice ! and in france is worse because wine is really a national product and cig not, so we go in spain to buy them, it's halp price, i know it's far for you but maybe is it possible to buy in line, i don't know...

Mine smokes are about 36.00 a carton, I have tried to quit, but I don't drink and need a crutch(Smokes)for my anxiety, bad excuse I know.

dh and i make cigs with loose tobacco and right now it works out to be only $1.10/pack. come april first, the guy at our smoke shop told us the bag we now pay $17.00 for will now go up to $52.00 a bag. dh smokes more than me and already got the prescription for the patch, he said he is done april 1st. i am gonna try to cut back, even pdoc hasn't recommended that i quit, he thinks it will be far too much stress.

i think this new tax will cause more robbery and effect the economy because people will be using more money to buy smokes vs. spending more money in other things.

My doc said not to push the quitting issue and I smoke little cigars like ciggs but only wrapped with tobacco insteasd of paper which makes them cheaper for some reason just need to get the DW to switch from marlboros

I quit back in 07 but the hubby still smokes. We're paying $32 a carton right now. How much higher can it go? I know he's not gonna quit though I wish he would.

My state has also put a new tax on cigarettes so they go up today and then again next month. I have a carton right now and when it runs out I am going to try to quit. Why should I pay for other peoples crap? Only the people who absolutely can't quit will continue smoking and that is sad. I think the tax is unfair.
